Pretty much everything went wrong for West Indies in the t20 world cup 2022, but it all began before they even got to Australia when big hitter Shimron Hetmyr missed his flight and was left out of the squad.
It got even worse when West Indies batters failed to perform in 2 of their three matches against relatively weaker sides. Especially their captain Nicholas Pooran had no impact.
To talk about what went wrong for West Indies was that the news that veteran cricket coach Phil Simmons will step aside at the end of the season was the last nail in the coffin for the West Indies Cricket Board, who will now look to build a new team under a new coach and a new captain.

Batting First West Indies made 146/5 in 20 Over, thanks to Brandon King’s 62* of 48. In reply Ireland chased down the total in just 17.3 over with 9 wickets in hand.
Results – Ireland won by 9 Wickets (15 Balls left) and Gareth Delany (3/16 in 4 over) was chosen as Man of the Match.
