ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is scheduled to take place from 16th October to 13th November 2022, in Australia. The tournament is being organized by the International Cricket Council with the aim of increasing the popularity of the sport and developing the global talent pool. Before this much awaited event let us take look at the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Location, Schedule, Prize Pool, Squad List.

The tournament will be played by 16 teams. First eight teams (India, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Pakistan and South Africa) have already made it to Super 12. And the remaining eight is divided in two groups, Group A – Sri Lanka, Namibia, Netherlands, UAE, and Group B – West Indies, Scotland, Ireland and Zimbabwe.

Four teams from each group will join the other eight teams in Super 12, where they will also be divided in 2 groups. Group 1 – Australia, England, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Winner of Group A and Runner up of Group B. And Group 2 – India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, Winner of Group B, and Runner up of Group A. Two teams with most points in each group will join each other in Semi finals, and the winner of semi finals will meet each other in Finals at Melbourne, Australia. That is the format of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Prize Pool of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022

The total prize pool of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is $5.6 million. From which winning team will receive $1.6 million and the runners-up will be granted half of the amount. Loosing semi-finalists will receive $400,000 and the eight losing teams of Super 12 stage each will get $70,000. Also to mention just like last year every win in 30 matches of Super 12 will be awarded with $40,000.

The four knocked out teams from the Group A and Group B will receive $40,000 each. And each win in group stage will be awarded with $40,000. So that’s sums up the Prize pool of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
